Supporting MIND and Yorkshire Cancer Research

Yorkshire Dales Moorland Group

The YDMG was proud to make two donations recently to the charities MIND and Yorkshire Cancer Research. These charity contributions were generated from the very popular Curlew Safaris held in the Dales last spring. These tours provide opportunities for members of the public to be taken out onto the moors to see the endangered and red listed birds and wildlife that thrive on our managed uplands. These and other moorland bird tours provided by the gamekeepers are hugely popular and the small fee charged has now been donated to charity.

The group is already looking forward to organising more safaris next spring so if you are a photographer, an ornithologist or interested in how our moors are managed and why, please follow us for updates and you will have the chance to book your place to witness the glory and splendour of our wildlife rich habitats.

These charities were chosen by gamekeepers who have personal experience of loss or who have been affected or touched by illness.

The moorland group will continue to engage with the public about wildlife and the work they do to protect it and also to support charities that rely on donations however large or small. Well done gentlemen.
