So the working rural sector get criticised when we ask visitors to put their dogs on a lead around livestock and at bird nesting time.

This is the outcome of events on moorland in the Dark Peak, which sadly is a common occurrence in many areas.

Whether it’s livestock that miscarriages, are lost or are attacked, or it’s birds that abandon nests or fail to fledge young - the cost of disturbance is very difficult to quantify, but we know it’s negative effect is massive in our communities.
