A year in the life

Nidderdale Moorland Group

We’re just back after a very enjoyable evening talking to our local group of ‘Flock’ ladies at Masham.

It was a full house of almost 40 for our ‘A Year in Nidderdale’ presentation.

From the start of the moorland gamekeepers year in spring when the waders and other birds return to our managed moorlands to breed alongside the resident Red Grouse and the importance of effective legal predator control that benefits all our ground nesting moorland species, to summer and maintenance work, autumn and the shooting season through to winter and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

We had a great evening talking through the work of our moorland gamekeepers as the year progresses here in the dale.

Thank you to the Flock ladies for inviting us.
