What a difference a day makes

What a difference a day makes!!
Yesterday our moorland gamekeepers were out controlled, cool burning on the moors. Today we are under a white blanket of snow!
The change in weather hasn’t stopped the male Red Grouse displaying from their territories.
Red Grouse are very hardy birds who stay on the moors year round and are well adapted to life in these hard areas.
If the snow is deep enough they will roost over night in ‘snow burrows’.
The moor roads are well covered with snow and some of our keepers have been out helping motorists who have become stuck.
