Spring is about to spring.

Forest of Bowland Moorland Group.

We’ve had some returning visitors to our moorland - spring is finally showing signs of return!

For those of our followers who recall last year when we had some footage of a pallid lapwing with unusual pigmentation on its wings, we are so pleased to report it has returned. This is a perfect demonstration of how important these uplands are to these waders who return year on year.

Another important thing to note in the photo is where the lapwings are. They have chosen to return to a recently burnt (in the last few years) piece of moorland showing the benefits of good moorland management and how it really helps these birds thrive.
