It’s snow time

Nidderdale Moorland Group

Good morning from Nidderdale. It’s a cold start to the day with snow still falling.

Our local farmers and gamekeepers have been out and about since before first light.

The Red Grouse will form packs and move down the moor as the snow covers the heather on higher ground and as shown here in one picture, they will come down to moorland edge pastures in search of food.

Our local farmers are busy snow plowing the roads, but please take care and extra time if you need to go out today as snow is still falling and the roads are very hazardous.
